Most of our services have a same day turn around time. The average wheel repair takes less than an hour to do per wheel.
We are usually asked about
Why paint over powder coat?
This is a question we get quite often. There can be many drawbacks when it comes to powder coating. It is often chosen for it’s durable finish but if done incorrectly, it can cause major problems. Powder coating can experience damage and abrasion over time, just like paint can. If your goal is to create a thin paint layer on your wheels, it is almost impossible to create a thin powder layer. If your wheels need less than 6mm of coating, powder coat is not the way to go. Lastly, but certainly not least, is SAFETY. Powder coating CAN compromise the integrity of the wheel. It is said that powder coating can be more durable but in many ways, it will do the exact opposite. In order to cure your wheels, they are placed in an oven and heated up which can age and weaken the metal. In our experience, we have seen more powder coated wheels that are cracked other than other wheels. Because of this, many companies will void warranties from the manufacturer.
If you have lug holes that are already tight or your socket fitment is tight, you are going to scratch the inside of the lug holes every time you need to take off your wheel and tire. This is because of the thickness of powder coat. Many companies will powder coat the back plate of the wheel, changing the fitment of the wheel making it to where it may not fit properly on your vehicle. Once on your vehicle, it can be very difficult to remove. In most cases a sledge hammer may need to be used to force it off.
For example, have you ever slipped a ring on your finger and then tried to get it off and it doesn’t come off as easily as it went on? This is the same concept.
Do we repair cracked wheels?
No. We do not repair cracked wheels. It is unsafe to do so. When you are welding wheels, it changes the structural integrity of your wheel. Safety comes first in everything that we do and it is safer to replace a wheel over welding.
How well does paint hold up?
We use high quality automotive paint. We DO NOT use rattle can, unlike a lot of our competitors. Our paint is just as durable as the paint that you have on your vehicle. Our paint will hold up against every day wear. Sitting in the sun, washing your vehicle, commuting to and from work, etc. If a rock hits your wheel at 70mph, it can damage it. If you hit a curb, it can be damaged. Powder coat can be damaged the same way. When your wheels are painted by us, it is like buying a new wheel.
Do we use rattle can or spray paint?
NO. We use high quality automotive paints. We take the wheels off of your vehicle and bring it into our certified mobile paint booth.
Do we repair the wheels on the vehicle and will I get overspray on my vehicle?
NO. We do not repair wheels on the car. We take every wheel off and take it into our certified mobile paint booth. Our paint booth is closed off and filtered so that there will be no paint leaving the paint booth. There will be no over spray on your vehicle.
How long before I can drive my vehicle after a repair or custom work is done?
Most repairs are cured in 40 minutes and are able to be driven after that. For special circumstances, times may vary.
